Your information and choices

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how GetJDK (getjdk.com), an independent Java Development Kit directory, handles information when you browse the site, choose a download, or contact its maintainer.

1. Contact and site operator

The GetJDK maintainer is responsible for this site. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected] . You do not need an account to browse GetJDK or follow its download links.

2. Information processed

  • Technical requests. Our hosting provider and Cloudflare process request information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, and timestamps to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the site. Cloudflare also provides website performance analytics.
  • Site preferences. We store your chosen color theme and analytics choice in cookies so the site can remember them.
  • Optional usage analytics. When enabled under the choices described below, Google Analytics processes information about visits and interactions, such as pages viewed, referral sources, and browser or device information, to help us improve GetJDK.
  • Email correspondence. If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include. We use it to respond to your request and investigate reported issues.

3. Cookies and Google Analytics

The getjdk-theme cookie remembers your color preference for up to one year. The getjdk-analytics cookie remembers your analytics choice for up to 180 days. These preference cookies are separate from optional Google Analytics cookies, such as _ga and cookies whose names begin with _ga_ .

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we ask before loading Google Analytics. In other recognized countries, analytics is enabled by default unless you have declined it. Your saved choice always takes priority. Declining does not affect downloads or other site features.

We use Cloudflare's country estimate to apply these settings. We read only the country code from its diagnostic response and do not save the full response. If the country is unknown or the check fails, we ask before loading analytics. Country estimates may reflect a VPN or proxy location.

You can change your choice using Analytics preferences in the footer. Turning analytics off stops subsequent Google Analytics collection in this browser; it does not remove information already sent to Google. You can delete previously stored cookies using your browser settings.

Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on .

4. Google AdSense and advertising

GetJDK may display advertisements through Google AdSense when ad serving is enabled. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other websites. Google's advertising cookies allow it and its partners to personalize ads using visits across websites. Other participating advertising vendors may also use cookies or similar technologies when serving ads.

You can manage or opt out of Google's personalized advertising in My Ad Center . For participating third-party vendors, visit YourAdChoices . See Google's advertising information and list of ad technology providers for further details.

Where required, advertising consent is requested separately before personalized ads are served, including through a Google-certified consent management platform for the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Allowing Google Analytics using this site's analytics preferences does not grant advertising consent.

5. Service providers and external downloads

We use providers for hosting, security, email, and analytics. They may process information in countries other than your own under their applicable terms and privacy policies. Their policies are available from Cloudflare and Google .

Download links lead to files hosted by JDK vendors or their delivery providers. Following a link sends a request to that external service, which receives technical information such as your IP address. Its own privacy policy applies. GetJDK does not control those services or modify their JDK binaries.

6. Retention and your requests

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request, resolve related issues, and meet any applicable recordkeeping obligations. Service providers retain technical and analytics information according to their service settings and policies. Preference cookie lifetimes are described above; you can remove them earlier in your browser settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Send requests to [email protected] . We may need information to verify that a request concerns you. You may also contact your local data protection authority where applicable.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the site's data practices change and revise the date above. For questions about an update, please contact the maintainer .
